Birthplace: Portland, Oregon – played in the Portland Junior Symphony under Jacob Avshalomov, first youth symphony in the country.
Grew up: Pacific Northwest – Portland and Seattle
Started playing: At age 8 in schools
Education: University of Washington in Seattle. Also got a master's degree in school psychology at Sacramento State
Began with SRS: 1978
Non-SRS Groups: Mendocino Music Festival, Sonatina Flute and Strings (weddings & events), Symphony of the Redwoods in Mendocino
Favorite music: 20th Century classical
In my iPod: Don’t have one. I love Brahms, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Poulenc, Khachaturian, Stravinsky.
Hobbies: I have a Tuesday night radio program of 20th century classical music on KZYX (public radio in Philo). I like to garden, read, and travel. I’ve published a beautiful photographic guidebook for brides getting married in Mendocino called Your Mendocino Wedding. I’m on the board of the Mendocino Music Festival.
