(SANTA ROSA, CA) ö The Santa Rosa Symphonyâs 40-member Preparatory Orchestra, featuring student musicians ages 9 to 14, and the 75-member Discovery Orchestra, featuring student musicians ages 9 to18, will present their Spring Concert at
3 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2005 at the Jackson Theater on the Sonoma Country Day School Campus, 4400 Day School Place in Santa Rosa.
Led by well-known local musician, educator and conductor William R. Williams who recently celebrated his 30th anniversary as a member of the Santa Rosa Symphony.
The program will include works by Bach, Rossini, and Tchaikovsky, and the premiere of a new work by SRS Youth Orchestra musician and Santa Rosa Junior College student, Matthew Perez, titled Theme and Variations in D minor.
Advance sale tickets are $6 and may be purchased by calling the Santa Rosa Symphony Box Office at 707-54-MUSIC. Tickets purchased at the door the day of performance are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.
