Santa Rosa Symphony celebrates 80th anniversary September 30 with Belles Amours: Love Arias from Great Operas concert and Ruby Jubilee Gala Dinner and Maestro Welcome

(SANTA ROSA, CA) –Santa Rosa Symphony celebrates 80 seasons of fine music-making with a Ruby Jubilee Opera Concert and Gala on Sunday September 30, 2007. Opera lovers are invited to a 4 p.m. performance at the Wells Fargo Center where SRS Music Director Bruno Ferrandis will conduct the orchestra in Belles Amours: Love Arias from Great Operas.
Featuring soloists Ronit Widmann-Levy, soprano, Malin Fritz, mezzo soprano, Isaac Hurtado, tenor, and Nmon Ford, baritone, the concert will consist of selections from Carmen (which the Santa Rosa Symphony first played in 1928), La Traviata, Rigoletto, La Boheme, Don Giovanni, and others. The concert is underwritten by Norma and Evert Person.

At 6 p.m., a black-tie optional Ruby Jubilee Gala Dinner and Maestro Welcome takes place in the exquisite ambiance of the Vintners Inn Event Center (4350 Barnes Road in Santa Rosa). Guests will meet Bruno Ferrandis, enjoy luscious food and libations and hear a reprise of Belles Amours when opera soloists make an appearance especially for this gathering. A silent auction and a brief live auction to benefit the Symphony’s music education and youth programs will round out the evening.
