(SANTA ROSA)—The Santa Rosa Symphony’s Summer Music Academy, a music program for students ages 5-18 and at every level of experience, will meet Monday through Friday, June 25 through July 13 (except July 4) on the campus of Sonoma Country Day School in Santa Rosa.
Offering a wide range of music performance opportunities for young people, classes include beginning and continuing violin, beginning cello, beginning bass; three levels of wind ensembles, a jazz ensemble, three levels of string orchestras, intermediate and advanced theory & composition classes, and the Academy Orchestra. Final performances for all classes and ensembles will be held Saturday, July 14.
Summer Music Academy, celebrating its 30th year, is a place where young musicians can build individual and ensemble skills, enjoy camaraderie with other students and work with outstanding teachers, conductors, composers and musicians from the greater Bay Area.
Music Academy tuition ranges from $140 to $330, depending on the class or ensemble preferred, and family discounts and financial aid are available. To create a complete day camp experience, students can also enroll in extra-curricular activities (may include computer and art classes or sports) through Sonoma Country Day School. |
