Born to an Argentinean and musical family, George Furlong began his music education and exposure to tango early in life. He started formal music training at the age of ten and continued though high school and college. In 1992, he discovered Shaolin Kung Fu, and through constant diligence and patience, became Senior Instructor and performed demonstrations in several cities in the U.S.  Furlong attributes much of his foundation of movement in tango to his training in Kung Fu.

Recognized for his musicality, Furlong is an up-and-coming Argentine tango dancer. He has performed and taught in cities throughout Texas where he resides, and recently has expanded to other places including New York City, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, San Diego, Phoenix, Savannah, Boston, Oklahoma City, Maui and Buenos Aires.

In 2003 he performed in Tango!Tango! with the Fort Worth Symphony and well-known choreographer Hector Zaraspe. Since then he has been invited to perform with bandoneonista Daniel Binelli and Opus Cuatro. He recently toured several cities in the U.S. as part of the cast of Tango Buenos Aires.

In 2005, he and his partner Jairelbhi Furlong created Evolutiontango, a dance group based in Dallas, Texas, and produced, directed and choreographed two tango productions: Tango: Now and Then and Evolutiontango. Today Furlong continues his tango education studying with Carolina Zokalski and Diego DiFalco, and Hugo Patyn and Miriam Larici, stars of the Broadway show Forever Tango.
