Isaac Hurtado is currently a principal artist in residence with Opera San Jose where he recently performed the roles of Roméo (Roméo et Juliette), Alfredo (La Traviata), and Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) to critical acclaim. In 2007-08 he will assume the roles of Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Werther (Werther), The Duke (Rigoletto), and Tamino (Die Zauberflöte). Hurtado made his professional leading-role debut as Roméo with Festival Opera in 2004, where he also sang the title role of Candide in 2005. The tenor has also appeared with Central City Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Opera North, Opera Theatre of Lucca, Italy, Cincinnati Opera, Martinez Opera and Opera Circle of Cleveland. Hurtado received his musical training at Florida State University, the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and Brigham Young University.
