The goals of the League are to enhance the quality of life in the community, support quality orchestral music, support music education for youth, and promote personal and collegial relationships among members. The League raises money pledged to the orchestra each year through a variety of fund raising events.

Organized in 1958 and Still Going Strong
The League is now in its forty-ninth year of service to the Santa Rosa Symphony and to the community. If interested in joining our efforts, contact us.

Fund Raising
As a fund-raising arm of the orchestra we have contributed over $1,000,000 to the Association since our inception. The League does its fund-raising by planning and executing several very special Events.

Here's what we have planned for the 2007-2008 season:

Rehearsal Refreshments: The League serves refreshments to the orchestra musicians at rehearsals throughout the season, starting in October and ending in May. This service is greatly appreciated by the musicians.

Ushers: The League coordinates the ushers for the Symphony performances by compiling volunteer usher lists, finding substitutes, maintaining the usher vests, and coordinating usher orientation, among other duties.

Staff Support: The League helps the Association staff whenever required by stuffing envelopes, manning telephones, serving on committees, and more.
In addition to year-round fund-raising activity, the League offers support for music education in the schools, the youth ensembles and directly to the Santa Rosa Symphony Orchestra. Members go out to the school with Symphony musicians to help with in-school performances. We also write teacher guides, copy tapes and coordinate delivery of the Elementary School Listening Program. We also usher for the Free Concerts for Youth, which are presented up to four times a year by the Symphony.
