From humble beginnings in 1928, the Santa Rosa Symphony has grown to a highly respected regional orchestra, the seventh largest in the state of California, presenting 21 classical performances plus specials. 

In summer 2000, the SRS became the Orchestra-in-Residence in the new Festival on the Green at Sonoma State University.
